How to Transfer Files from One Cloud Storage Service to Another

If you are looking for a simple way to transfer files from one cloud storage service to another without downloading the files to your computer first, I would recommend you to give Backupbox a try. Backupbox allows users to transfer files from one cloud storage service to another without downloading the files to your computer. The data is transferred from server to server and the time it takes to transfer them depends on the number of files and their size.

Lets take a look at how to transfer the files using BackupBox.

Transferring iicloud storage files Using BackupBox

First of all, you must sign up for an account on BackupBox. After registration, it will redirect you to the dashboard of Backupbox from where you can add services. Let’s start with adding the source destination, the place from where we want to transfer our files. Click on Add New Source button on your dashboard.

Currently, Backupbox supports the following services:

  • Amazon S3
  • Dropbox
  • Box
  • FTP
  • Google Drive
  • Media Temple
  • MySQL
  • SFTP
  • SkyDrive
  • SmugMug
  • Sugarsync

Just select the service from where you want to transfer the files and authorize it to access your account. To get started, we will be using Dropbox as the source destination.

Now, it’s time to transfer the files from one service to another. Select the folder you want to transfer. One drawback of the service is that you cannot transfer specific files, you must select a folder you want to transfer from one service to another. After selecting the folder, just click on the Transfer Now button and it will begin the transfer process. The time it takes to move the files from one service to another depends on the size and number of files you are transferring.

Apart from these, it’s a very useful utility. As it is still in early stages, I hope the developers will take these things into consideration. Feel free to share your thoughts if you tried BackupBox.
